As a BES administrator who also handles Exchange w/ iPhone and Droid, I can tell you that our IT staff of 200+ loves the Blackberry. Messenger, group chat, ease of synchronization, and speed are all reasons. I rarely even use a computer anymore, as I can be efficient and effective right from my 9650. Apple has come a long way, especially when Exchange is involved, but it hasn't swayed the hearts of minds of those who truly use their Blackberry devices all the time, as a necessity. Droid, while great with apps, is horrible with email, particularly Exchange. That has been my experience.

I think Blackberry should make a commercial with a Droid user, an iPhone user, and a Blackberry user, similar to the "I'm a Mac vs I'm a PC" ads. The Apple user can be a young hipster bragging about awesome the iphone is, the droid user can be a tech geek, and the blackberry can be a business executive or IT executive.

"Apple has an app for it, Droid DOES it, but with Blackberry, it's already done."

Everyone says Apple has to step up and allow Flash but in reality it's entirely up to Adobe to prove Flash belongs on the iPhone in the first place. From my point of view, there are a couple problems that Adobe needs to consider:

1) Flash performs poorly on everything but Windows PCs. Try Flash on any Mac and you'll understand why most Apple fans don't like Flash; it's slow, unstable, kills the battery, runs the RAM hard, and is generally painful to use. It seems to me that if Adobe wants to intice Steve Jobs to allow Flash on iPhone, they might want to retool it so that it actually works properly on Macs.

2) Flash is proprietary, and does not conform to (or even attempt to conform to) web standards bodies by open sourcing itself. If Adobe wants Flash adoption to be ubiquitous, it should release Flash as an open framework. The fact that it refuses to do so means it's just another proprietary software vendor, or rather, a proprietary plugin. Apple has no more reason to support Flash than it does Silverlight, Active-X, or any other plugins.

As others have said, I think it's up to Adobe to prove it wants Flash to be ubiquitous. If it wants to be included in the "real internet" then it has to open itself up as an open source technology. Otherwise, it will never be anything more than a proprietary extension.

Moreover, as others have also noted, Adobe ought to be investing in developing killer HTML5 toolsets. Flash as a programming language is on the way out; Adobe as a brand associated with creative development on the web doesn't have to be.

The fact is, none of these manufacturers are selling 3D TVs at all. They are selling a lousy fake which they market as 3D, but which requires those cruddy eye-crutches for every person involved. That is why you don't like it. It's bogus and low quality, and that's never going to ring true.

I accept that the best we can do right now is to simulate a 3D experience, but we know what the real stuff will look like. Young Superman watched Jor-El escape Krypton with a true 3D viewer; The high councils in Star Wars used closed-circuit 3D. And you could tell it looks great! You wanted that in your own living room!

So when my holographic TV can be properly placed *in the center* of my home theater, and the sofas and chairs are swapped out to the perimeter, where they belong, so that we can all watch the game or the drama from whichever angle we choose - then we'll have 3D TV.

When that day comes, I'll be first in line at the TV store. But until then, they can keep their nasty headache-inducing face-crap to themselves!

Microsoft is no stranger to having partners galore in the cellphone enterprise, but its lineup of producers for the upcoming, surprisingly promising Windows Cellphone 7 launch is no less impressive. After plenty of rumoring, Microsoft has confirmed that Dell and HTC will probably be making Windows Telephone 7 telephones, in addition to ASUS, LG, and Samsung who had already been confirmed. All of those firms should have their stamp on hardware by the top of the 12 months, with the launch of the OS still vaguely slated for the "holidays" We have little question that each one 5 producers can construct some compelling, sexy hardware, but we're notably enthused to see Dell really moving into the sport after the impressive Streak and that drool worthy leak a little while back. learn more at http://www.wp7forum.com fans group.

Maybe Google should go back to their core business rather than trying to get into the operating system business with Android, which they give away for free.
Check out GOOG stock price the past year. They are not making any money with Andriod.

I've been desiring a Zune phone that is not marketed like a toy for tweens (Kin).

Thing is, I'm currently without a smart phone and there are so many great choices now. If Palm had trouble cracking the market with their brilliant web OS, how is Microsoft going to contend with Apple and Android who have gained an impressive share of that market. The market is growing, this we know, but the longer they wait to get in the ring with a real product the harder this is going to be.

I really hope they pull it off because I absolutely love my Zune and Zune pass and I would love to have that functionality integrated into a real smart phone.

The Motorola DROID continues to present new possibilities every day. I've had it for about 10 months and We have had a Blackberry attached to my system since September 1998. Getting connected is often a critical element of my existence so I am constantly reachable by loved ones and co-workers. I'm a bit addicted towards Market place for DROID Applications. If the device had unlimited memory I would test the capacity. I think this OS could be the way from the future and intend to grow with all of you to understand it by means of and via. Thanks for the post.
