Looking at reports that Microsoft has killed off the Courier project and HP has killed their Slate PC. I’m sure that both are for different reasons. I’m waiting for some confirmation about things that I suspect are true in both cases before I comment.

I’m not surprised by either of these possibilities. MS gave up any edge they might have had when they killed the Jupiter WCE devices and went after the Palm Pilot form-factor. None of the other embedded OS vendors, at the time, could support full-sized screens. How much further ahead could MS be if they’d kept at it for the past 12 years?
HP will most likely wait to release their Slate until they’ve assimilated Palm’s webOS if they’re serious about going after Apple. Also, I can’t help but picture a Jornada 820 running webOS.
.@zpower Sadly, I broke down and bought a WiFi #Vita and a 16gb card. Cheaper than the crappy "first edition" #gameon2 hours ago
it is simply too nice a day not to go running outside over lunch if I can get this research note finished. 3 hours ago
Having been one of them I can safely say it had nothing to do with iPhone 4s & everything to do with bad customer service. http://feedproxy. 4 hours ago
@divikannan as a portable game device it's about the best there is for a dedicated system. 5 hours ago
Let me guess:
1. HP killed Slate because they want to enter mobile devices arena all by themselves. I expect to see WebOS based slate from them.
2. Microsoft finally realized that introducing a Win 7 based touch device just did not make sense and their tablet will be Win Phone 7 based.
It will be interesting to see if it will be MSFT branded tablet or they will have similar business model as WP7.
Just guessing :)
